CRAZY HEAD
When the sky is dark and the night is warm
I am the center of your storm
Do you feel like setting the world on fire
Or lighting it up like a neon wire
And I'm driving us home like a runaway train
And you're tasting the moonlight and drinking the rain
And I'm spinning around until I'm nearly dead
In your crazy head
I'm just a little toy solider baby don't you see
I'm just playing the hand that you're dealing to me
Like those magic cards of yours can tell
I got to pass through heaven on my way to hell
And I'm crashing through the walls of the chapel of love
And you're keeping me safe from the thunder above
And I don't think I heard a single word you said
In your crazy head
Won't you let me come inside
In your crazy head
What have you got to hide
In your crazy head
Straight as an arrow
Sharp as a knife
Am I the angel of eath or the devil in this life
Don't you keep me waiting
Don't you shut the door
Don't you give me a taste and leave me crying for more
And I'm crashing through the walls of the chapel of love
And you're keeping me safe from the thunder above
And I don't think I heard a single word you said
In your crazy head
Won't you let me come inside
In your crazy head
What have you got to hide
In your crazy head

PASSENGERS EN ROUTE
Caught the train on a Tuesday rode it early for a Saturday Night
Caught the train on a Tuesday rode it early for a Saturday Night
Stayed under a night sky with a song given to me
Holding onto the rails with the wind whipping through me
Caught the train on a Tuesday rode it early for a Saturday Night
Running hot by a Thursday going faster now to make up some ground
Running hot by a Thursday going faster now to make up some ground
Spirit got ahead bolted onward without warning
But we'll meet up down the track as we roll into the morning
Running hot by a Thursday going faster now to make up some ground
Cars filling up reserved for passengers en route
Cars filling up reserved for passengers en route
The steady procession of faces marching by me
Been through so many stations and still you're beside me
Cars filling up reserved for passengers en route
Reserved for passengers en route
Reserved for passengers en route
Reserved for passengers en route
Reserved for passengers en route

NICE MAMA #4
Early in the morning and the sun still down
Packin' my bag getting out of this town
Hey hey, I'm moving on
Won't live another minute inside these walls
The freight train whistles and the highway calls
Hey hey, I'm moving on
Now I paid my penalty in sorrow and shame
It'll always hurt a little when I hear your name
But for now, I'm moving on
Now the story is over and the night games played
Let the sun shine in and the memories fade
Hey hey, I'm moving on
And I know I coulda done so much better
I never claimed I wasn't wrong
And you know I could put this all in a letter
But I like the way it feels in a song
Well we made some love and we had some fun
But it's good to know when a thing is done
Hey hey, I'm moving on
Early in the morning and the sun still down
Packin' my bag getting out of this town
Hey hey, I'm moving on
And I know I coulda done so much better
I never claimed I wasn't wrong
And you know I coulda put this all in a letter
But I like the way it feels in a song
Once you held my hand looked in my eyes
Said tender words, but now I realize
It's time, I'm moving on
Now the streets are empty and the city is dead
And I'm gone already inside my head
Hey hey, I'm moving on
So long, I'm moving on
Farewell, I'm moving on.

ALL SYSTEMS CLEAR
You say you don't know where we're going
Well it's time to make it plain
You say it's cold out and it's snowing
You're bending low beneath the pain
So leave it on the dark highway
There's no solutions anyway
Leave it all behind
Empty out your mind
Cause we will drive out across the Rocky Mountains
And we'll arrive at the Humboldt County shore
And we will dive in the cool Pacific Ocean
Wide awake, no fear
All systems clear
Tracy sings while she's driving
She won't let me take the wheel
She only worries about surviving
She's got nothing left to feel
And nothing left to cry about
No time to scream and shout
Stretched out in the sun
Her life just begun
And we will drive out across the Rocky Mountains
And we'll arrive at the Humboldt County shore
And we will dive in the cool Pacific Ocean
Wide awake, no fear
All systems clear

The Lucky Ones

THE LUCKY ONES
We are the lucky ones, get to be in the show
We are the lucky ones, for a minute before we go
Just one in a million makes it through the door
We are the lucky ones, get to shake it out on the floor
We are the lucky ones on a 1-chord groove
In the tempo of life, don’t it make you wanna move
We are the lucky ones, all here tonight
Let’s be lucky ones Till the morning light
So love pain joy hurt life, ain’t complicated
We are fated to breathe and feel
I said love pain joy hurt life, ain’t complicated
We are fated to be real
We are the lucky ones, get to play the game
Could win could lose, it’s really all the same
We are the lucky ones, get to take this ride
Rolling in a rowboat, on an ocean tide
So love pain joy hurt life, ain’t complicated
We are fated to breathe and feel
Said love pain joy hurt life, ain’t complicated
We are fated to be real
We are the lucky ones, on the planet Earth
Just a little bit of sunlight, little water little dirt
We are the lucky ones, from a mama torn
We are the lucky ones, we get to be born
So shake it, shake it, honey, shake it good
Said shake it, shake it, honey, you know you should
I said shake it, shake it, honey, shake it good
Said shake it, shake it, honey, you know you should
Oooh, ooh

America

AMERICA
"Let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together
I've got some real estate here in my bag"
So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner pies
And walked off to look for America
"Kathy", I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh
"Michigan seems like a dream to me now"
It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw
I've come to look for America
Laughing on the bus
Playing games with the faces
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy
I said "Be careful, his bowtie is really a camera"
"Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat"
"We smoked the last one an hour ago"
So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine
And the moon rose over an open field
"Kathy, I'm lost", I said, though I knew she was sleeping
I'm empty and aching and I don't know why
Counting the cars on the New Jersey Turnpike
They've all come to look for America
All come to look for America
All come to look for America
